This policy explains how Popcorn Security handles personal information when you browse the website, contact us, create an account, buy a plan, or use a Popcorn service.
We collect information needed to run and protect the service. We do not sell personal information, and advertising trackers do not run inside your signed-in account.
The seller identified during checkout is responsible for account, order, and subscription data processed for Popcorn Security. For privacy questions or rights requests, email privacy@popcornsecurity.com. The company’s legal identity and contact address will also appear in the order record.
Information you provide
- email address, name, sign-in and account preferences;
- order, billing, subscription, and entitlement details;
- support messages and files you choose to send;
- information entered into optional monitoring tools.
Information generated by use
- security and request logs such as IP address, timestamp, browser, approximate region, and attempted action;
- account events, license claims, and product setup progress;
- consent choices and optional analytics events, if you allow them.
When live payments launch, checkout will identify the payment provider and the information it processes. Popcorn will retain the transaction status and limited references needed to manage an order, not full payment-card numbers.
Installed security applications can process device, network, file, credential, backup, or monitoring data under their own privacy notices and settings. Popcorn does not receive the contents of a password vault merely because it manages the license.
Before activation, your account identifies the provider and links to the applicable privacy information. We share only the account, license, or activation data needed to provide the product.
- provide accounts, purchases, licenses, and support;
- send receipts, security notices, and renewal reminders;
- prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate claims, and security incidents;
- operate and improve reliable services;
- meet tax, accounting, and other legal duties;
- measure marketing or site performance only where consent or another lawful basis permits it.
Depending on the context, our legal basis is performance of a contract, legitimate interests in security and service reliability, your consent, or compliance with law.
Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or contractual protections.
We retain information only while needed for the purpose described, including the active account period and reasonable periods for security, support, tax, accounting, disputes, and legal obligations. Exact periods depend on the data and applicable law. We delete or anonymize information when the purpose ends.
We use proportionate technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted transport, access controls, audit logging, separation of public and server-only credentials, and restricted administrative access. No connected system is perfectly secure, so please report suspected account compromise promptly.
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:
- provide access to or a copy of your information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete information;
- restrict or object to processing;
- transfer information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Send requests to privacy@popcornsecurity.com from the account email where possible. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator.
Popcorn subscriptions are intended for adults and are not directed to children. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
We may update this policy as services and legal requirements change. Material changes are announced through the site, account, or email before they take effect where required.
